American Dream #1

Something I'm thinking about the American Dream is...
Is the-American-Dream-dead?
What is DACA?

The way I think of the American Dream is as freedom, equality (regardless of race, social class,or ethnic background), the idea that ¨if you work hard, you'll go ahead¨, is America the place of opportunities. But I feel like that's just how me and some other people think of it as, it's not really what is happening here in America. For example; everyone who earns it, does has freedom, but there's not a lot of equality. Before it was towards the Native Americans and African Americans, now is immigrants and gays, there's not the same opportunities for those two groups. DACA is a two-year permit that allows 16-29 years-old people who were brought to the country illegally in their childhood, to go to college and work. That is one opportunity, but not everyone qualifies, the rest just can't go to college or work because they can't. Also for gays, not all states approve gay marriage, they're not having the same equality as everyone else, who is allowed to marry who ever they want. I think the American Dream is just what everyone is expecting or want to happen, but is not happening.
